DGSOM AMSA, UCLA UAEM Host Voter Registration and Congress Calling Drive in Westwood
DGSOM AMSA and UCLA UAEM put on a Voter Registration and Congress Calling Drive on the corner of Westwood Plaza and Le Conte Ave, near Ronald Reagan Medical Center.
AMSA and UAEM volunteers helped members of the community register to vote and call their members of Congress about H.R. 1046 and H.R. 3 in support of lowering prescription drug prices. Volunteers also distributed informational materials about voting, advocacy resources, and ballot measures.
After the previous month’s on-campus Congress Calling Party, DGSOM AMSA wanted to expand these efforts to reach people outside of classmates and members of the School of Medicine. Many community members, RRMC staff, and patients and their caregivers participated in this event. DGSOM AMSA plans to further expand the scope of these efforts at the Lennox Health Fair next month.
