By Med Students For Pre-Med Students

Med Mentors at UCLA was founded in February 2020, just a month before the COVID-19 pandemic began. Our team of medical students at DGSOM wanted to give back to pre-medical students at UCLA and share insights they'd gathered during their own pre-med paths. Our first event was a Coffee Chat at Geffen Hall. When the pandemic started, we transitioned all of our programming to a virtual format through Zoom medical student panels, virtual Coffee Chats, essay review services, and mock interviews. Today, much of our programming still exists online in order to serve premeds from around the world. We also have in-person events, including Coffee Chats and Jumpstart Clinical Skills Workshops, that happen at the UCLA campus. Learn more about the different aspects of our organization below!

As we are a medical student organization, premedical students do not join Med Mentors. Instead, we are a service intended to help YOU! To stay in the loop, sign up for our mailing list and follow us on social media to know when our next event is. All events and services are free and open to everyone!

These events are generously sponsored by DGSOM Admissions,  DGSOM Outreach & Pathway Programs, and the UCLA Career Center, and representatives from these offices will be in attendance at all events. Mock Interviews

For current medical school applicants, we host 1-2 virtual mock interview days in the fall to practice interviewing skills with current medical students via zoom. Details will be shared on our social media and sign-ups are first come, first served. You may also use our 1-on-1 advising platform to request a mock interview but acceptance of requests depends on med student interest and availability. For interview advice, visit our YouTube channel.
