About
Sarah Beth Stein is a second-year Master of Public Health student at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She grew up outside of New Haven, Connecticut, and graduated from Yale with a BS in psychology. As an undergraduate, she took courses in the history of science and medicine and medical anthropology, from which she discovered her passion for public health. After working in health advocacy for many years, she became fascinated by the intersection of work and health. She moved to California in 2019 to pursue her interests in migrant occupational health, eventually joining the Department of Community Health Sciences at Fielding. She now serves as an advocacy fellow at a local workers’ center and does research on precarious employment and occupational health disparities.
