About
I was born and raised in El Monte, CA, a city that is primarily inhabited by Latino immigrants like my parents. I attended California State University Fullerton, as a first generation college student, and majored in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. I spent my time as an undergrad learning more about the issues that affect underserved communities through my volunteer experiences in community clinics (one of which was where I received care as a child) and our Flying Samaritans chapter. I developed a strong sense of cultural pride, which allowed me to embrace my community with a sense of belonging, and a strong desire to make a difference. I plan to use my white coat to provide care and to advocate for historically marginalized communities.
